Join us for our 5th Annual New Year Healthier You Team Challenge! Formally known as New Year New You. We have changed the name as we believe you are wonderful the way you are. But if you feel like improving your health and fitness and getting 1% better every day then this challenge is for you.
WHY IT'S NOT A WEIGHT LOSS CHALLENGE...
In prior years doing the New Year New You, we noticed once the challenge is over a lot of people revert back to their old ways. They didn’t learn anything to sustain them for the LONG TERM and even resorted to unhealthy strategies in order to win. And in fact, most challenges going on right now are geared toward how much weight people can lose in a short period of time.
If you’re familiar with Darren Hardy’s The Compound Effect, he says “Each choice starts a behavior that starts a habit…you make your choices, then your choices make you.” We agree that entering a challenge is the start of a behavior we just don’t agree with the approach for extreme weight loss with short term unsustainable techniques that don’t carry over to healthy habits in the long term. Is it a motivator to begin a challenge? Sure, of course. But more often than not the majority of those same motivated individuals start to fall back into their old habits, the clothes start getting a little tighter and then the negative self-talk creeps back in causing this cycle that creates more stress and frustration.
This is not who we’re about and it just sends the wrong message of how health and fitness should be!
So this is not your typical weight loss contest. In fact, we don’t care how much weight you’ll lose in 6 weeks. It simply does not reflect the habits you’ll build up for the long term of this lifestyle. We care about giving you the tools to carry on this journey for the long term.
Our “New Year Healthier You” is for those of you who are fed up with the same old weight loss challenge and are serious about FINALLY getting FIT and healthy for the long haul!
HOW IT WORKS!
Over the last couple of years we’ve really adopted the Precision Nutrition concept of habit based coaching and mastering the basics. So in this challenge we are rewarding points for steps taken for healthy habits, NOT weight loss. This is not about pounds on the scale.
Teams will receive points for the process of becoming healthier, such as hitting the gym 3 times a week, trying a new recipe from our Finally Fit Nutrition Guide, and working together as a team. Finally Fit is more about FINALLY doing things right, FINALLY making the change for the long-term, FINALLY putting your health and fitness first, FINALLY putting a stop with the excuses and taking action to create impact in your life.
This is a team challenge! We have always found that motivation and accountability is strengthened when you are a part of a team. The commitment is high and teammates have laser-beam focus. For this challenge participants will work in teams of THREE (3). Each team needs to have at least ONE (1) non-member of Finally Fit. Teams will accumulate points throughout the challenge based on different HABITS and tasks laid out in the challenge guide, and at the end of the challenge the top team will be eligible for prizes! If you don't have a team, but want to participate in the challenge, you can e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we can work to pair you up to complete another team!
NUTRITION AND CHALLENGE GUIDE
Each participant will receive a challenge guide! These guides with health, fitness and nutrition information will be instrumental for your success. They will outline the exact details of the challenge and will be a resource not only for the 6-weeks of the challenge, but to look back on as a reference for years to come!
Each team will be assigned an accountability coach. This coach will not only be in charge of adding up your team's points, but will also serve as your resource for any questions you may have! They will guide you in the right direction, provide motivation throughout the challenge, and give you advice along the way!
Depending on which option you choose, you will receive TWO (2) OR THREE (3) semi-private coaching sessions every single week, along with an individualized training program. Semi-private training is similar to personal training, except instead of one-on-one where the trainer stands over you every second of the workout, it's one coach working with four people at the same time. Each person is still working on their own individualized program written specifically for them and their goals, and the coach is there for guidance on form, motivational support, and to answer any questions. The semi-private setting allows for more autonomy, while still receiving the knowledge and guidance you need from a coach!
